September 3, 2010Oops! I’ve been bad, keeping up to date over here. It may seem like there has not been much happening around here, but really it’s been quite the opposite. No news here generally means little miss Kate is a little bit snowed under, and updating this blog takes a fair chunk of time, so it sometimes, unfortunately gets put in the ‘not urgent’ pile.
Back in April I trialed a Mini Session day. At the time I thought it would probably be a once off. But it was so popular, and the day ran so well, that I decided to do another. Before I even announced it on my facebook page I had not one, but two days worth of bookings. So I ran another in July, then another in August. And again, I had so many on my waiting list I decided to squeeze in one last day for the year – the following weekend. So two mini session days, two weeks in a row. Yes I am nuts, and I have a lot of work to get through, but I just love the whole mini session concept, and it seems you all do too
) Double yay!
So, once again, there’s going to be a fair few sneak peek posts coming up, so stick around to see some of the gorgeous little people I’ve been blessed to work with.
And finally I just want to say a big thank you to all of the families who have embraced these mini sessions. It’s been an absolute pleasure to meet you all, or catch up with you again.
First up, here’s 3yo twin sisters Madison (in pink) and Elly (in purple). These little cherubs were the first newborn twins I ever photographed, and their lovely mummy Shan is the talent behind Missy Melly – for those who always comment on Amelia’s birdy dress.

August 19, 2010John and Mandy’s son Jason just had his Passing Out from HMAS Cerberus, so the whole family travelled over from Adelaide for the special event. Mandy’s lovely sister in law and friend of mine Nic Wood organised a family photography session for them while they were all in (my) town. The weather looked like it was not going to play along at all. Melbourne has had so much rain lately and it just doesn’t seem to be letting up (I know, we need it…). It was forecast for rain, and I spend most of the morning back and forth between looking at the sky through the windows, and looking at the weather radar on the BOM website, trying to work out whether to bring their session forward to the morning, or wait it out and hope it didn’t get worse. It looked yuck, but do-able… and seeing as they’d come from interstate, there wasn’t really the option to reschedule. We took a chance and waited it out, and it ended up being the right choice. While it was far from beautiful weather the sun did peak through the clouds a little and it wasn’t freezing. Seeing as they were staying at Red Hill I met them at the B&B they were staying at (Dragonfly on the Hill – Thank you!), and we wandered around the property and surrounding areas for their session. They are such a beautiful family, happy, fun, relaxed and connected. Obviously happy to just be together again.
Thanks John, Mandy, Jason and Rhiannon (and Nic!). It was a pleasure to meet you all and spend the afternoon with you. I hope you all enjoyed your time here, and made it home safe and sound.

August 14, 2010Tania, John and Taylor came along to my recent mini session day and had some maternity photos taken, which are just a few posts prior. Just a few days later baby Thomas joined the family. Taylor is in her element as big sister. Such a little mummy, it’s beautiful to see the bond she has already developed with her little brother. He’s one lucky little boy who is sure to be looked after for the rest of his life.
Congratulations Tania and John, he’s just beautiful. Thank you for brining him in to meet me.

August 11, 2010I don’t think you’d guess from looking at Yolanda’s belly that’s she’s 30 weeks pregnant with not one, but two beautiful little blessings. She looks absolutely radiant and I can’t wait to meet these darling little souls in a few more months. And isn’t little Kobe adorable. He’s not sure what’s going on inside his mummy’s tummy, but he sure likes belly buttons at the moment.

August 5, 2010Caleb’s mummy must have had a sixth sense that his arrival was about to happen. Only a few hours after hanging up the phone to me, organising his newborn session, labour started! Caleb and his mummy and daddy came to visit me last week. He was such a good little boy and let me take *a lot* of photos of him. I warned his mummy she was going to end up with a lot of photos to choose from! Try as I might to narrow down their gallery it still ended up huge, and therefore their sneak peek is also huge. So be warned, following is a very image heavy post! But I think you’ll agree, that I just couldn’t narrow down any more. And I doubt there are really any complaints, don’t we all just love newborn photos.
C&S it was lovely to meet you and your beautiful new son . Congratulations!
