Kathryn and Tim. What a lovely couple. They are obviously so well connected, and make each other so happy. They drove the 4,000km back to Melbourne from their home in WA, to be surrounded by family and friends on their special day. Their ceremony was held in the gardens of Mulberry Hill, a beautiful American-colonial style house, and the former home of Daryl & Joan Lindsay (author of Picnic at Hanging Rock). The property has since been bequeathed to the National Trust. Kathryn’s dad has been the gardner on the property for the past 25 years! So it was a very sentimental location for their wedding. Melbourne had been experiencing some crazy wet weather, and I was just a tiny bit worried leading up to the day, but I needn’t have been. The sun shone. Oh yes it shone. A. LOT. Just as their ceremony started the clouds parted and the sun shine poured in. Everyone there thought it was lovely… I wanted it to back off just a little. It was HARSH! haha, After their ceremony, we quickly wandered around the gardens surrounding the house for some photographs, in the softer, but quickly fading light, before heading off for their (FUN!) reception at Safety Beach.

Kathryn and Tim, I hope your long trip back home was a smooth one! Thank you for sharing your day with me.

Part two will be up very soon.

I first spoke to Abby when she contacted me asking if I’d travel to Mt Buller to photograph her wedding. I could tell just by chatting to her on the phone that she was sweet and kind and the type of person you’d feel comfortable and relaxed around immediately. When I met both her and Joe a few weeks later I could see they were a beautiful match for each other. Both so gentle and attentive to each other. The happiness and love they shared was physically visible. As they described their plans for their small intimate wedding I felt more and more blessed to be chosen to capture it for them. I love weddings that are personal. When a couple take their day and infuse themselves into every little detail and create a dream celebration that is as unique as them, I love it. When I look around, see little details and can read so much into the people they are and the experiences that have bought them to the present moment, I love it. Joe and Abby’s wedding was so personal, and so unique. They let go of a lot of traditions and created a day that was just what they dreamed. They prepared for their wedding together. Joe was the first to see Abby in her dress – which she made herself! They chatted and laughed and cuddled as they got ready, and were so calm and relaxed. It was a wedding as beautiful as them.

Joe and Abby, thank you for inviting me along to capture the beginning of your marriage. Thank you for sharing yourselves with me. It was a pleasure. xx

Little bit of a busy week here. We headed off for Mt Buller on the weekend to photograph the beautiful wedding of Joe and Abby. It was an amazing weekend in such a beautiful part of our country. I’ve almost finished processing a commercial job, and then I’ll be getting stuck into their wedding images, but I couldn’t resist  posting just one little sneak peek. I will be back with more in the next few days.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Martyn and Shannon’s wedding on Saturday. It was a hot, blustery day, but Shannon was so relaxed and calm, she just radiated with pure joy the entire day.  I started off with a visit to the boys. When Shannon gave me their address, I knew they were local to me, but didn’t realise they were one street away! Martyn’s mum and brother had made the trip out from England for the wedding. And we turned on the good Aussie summer weather for them! After spending some time photographing them I left them to relax in the air-conditioning and drove just a few more streets away to Shannon’s parents beautiful home to meet the gorgeous, glowing bride. Shannon really was a dream bride. So easy going, she took everything in her stride, and was just absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Shannon’s dad is a wonderful gardner and had been working hard to have their garden ready for the day. It made a gorgeous backdrop for some last photos, before heading off to Manyung Gallery in Mount Eliza for their ceremony and reception.

Shannon and Martyn, together you make such a beautiful couple. So warm and friendly. So considerate of each other. I loved seeing the love between you, and capturing your connection. I wish you many, many blissfully happy years together. May your photos be an everlasting reminder of your treasured memories. Thankyou for inviting me to capture your special day. Enjoy your honeymoon and I will be in touch when you get back.

I first met Christie a few years ago through scrapbooking (back when I had time to scrapbook!), but I hadn’t met Chris until just before their wedding day. Together they are such a beautiful couple. Fun, down to earth, in love and so warm and friendly. And did I say fun? Their wedding day was so perfectly them and I had so much fun capturing all of the special moments and details. The weather was perfect (although maybe a touch too sunny at times) and Christie just radiated with joy all day.
To save time between the ceremony and reception, Chris and Christie decided to have some formal portraits done before the ceremony. After spending some time with the girls getting ready, I headed off to the Briars to photograph the boys. Once the boys were back on the road, the girls had the all clear to come in, and we had a ball capturing some stunning photos of Christie – and her beautiful bridesmaids of course. We then headed off to Manyung Gallery at Mt Eliza for their ceremony and reception. It’s such an honour to be invited along to capture the love and commitment between such a gorgeous couple ~ thank you both xx.

Sneak peek part two of Leoni and Grants wedding day.

Leoni and Grant married on 31st of October at Dromana Foreshore. Because of the date, they decided to go with a ‘touch of halloween’ theme for their special day. Although the weather predicted rain and thunderstorms, in true Melbourne style, we got the total opposite. The bright glary sunlight was a bit of a challenge, but we got through it and captured some beautiful shots of their ceremony.

So here is part one of their sneak peek:

Grant and Leoni congratulations!

Part two:

Was such a pleasure to meet you Mel and Andrew, and capture your special day. xx

A few weeks ago I teamed up with fellow photographer and great friend of mine Connie Hatch to shoot our first wedding as ‘Sweet Love Wedding Photography’. Our gorgeous couple of the day, Andrew and Mel, gathered all of their loved ones together at Hickenbotham of Dromana winery for their special day, and it was just perfect. Even the weather played along nicely. These two are so madly in love, and it was such a pleasure to capture that love and their special memories in a way that can be treasured forever. I’ve had lots of trouble trying to narrow down their sneak peek (to a peek LOL), and in the end just decided I had to share a mammoth post – I’m sure that won’t bother anyone though :)

So here is part one of my photos from the day:

Andrew and Mel, congratulations on your perfect wedding day. xx
