I recently met up with this family on the beach, to capture some photos of them all together, as well as each in their own smaller families. Despite a few little challenges, we got there in the end, and captured some beautiful happy moments

April 13, 2010Almost 9 years ago, on a freezing cold Winters night, Brett and I nervously walked into our first anti-natal class. As I looked around the room of other expectant parents, one person who had been sitting with her back to the door turned and smiled a gorgeous welcoming smile at me. I remember most of the chairs were taken, but there were two left next to her and her hubby, so Brett and I sat down. As we chatted we discovered we were due one day apart. Me the 26th October, her the 27th. We chatted on and on, and discovered so many similarities. She had the most beautiful soul and just drew me in. Someone you just know you will like from the first moment. Each week at our classes we’d chat some more (ok, a lot!), and after our 6 weeks of classes were finished, we exchanged phone numbers. Each week we’d have our Ob checkups, and that afternoon call each other to exchange the happenings with our fast growing bubba’s. We finished work the same week, and caught up for lunch a few times. The 26th and 27th October drew near and then passed uneventfully for either of us, but each week we’d call each other to check and update. Eventually we both were booked in to be induced. I remember calling Nat (her name is Natalie by the way!) telling her I was being induced on Wednesday because they wouldn’t induce on the Tuesday as it was Melbourne Cup Day. We guessed she’d be be induced the following day, Thursday. She called back that afternoon to say she was booked in for Monday!! Cheeky thing, how dare she have her baby before me, I’m first!! LOL. And my good little man saw to it that we were first, as he came naturally beforehand
Nat said to me in hospital as she cuddled Liam, still waiting to meet her bubba to be born, that she knew at that moment she was going to have a boy, as she knew we’d have the same. She’s my sister in another life I’m sure. Anyway, the point to this long post is that that beautiful soul, Natalie, Nat, Aunty Nat, Nattie… is one of my very, very favourite people in the whole world. And her sweet muchkins Hayden and Caitlin are too (and we can’t leave you out Michael…. we’ll keep you too).
Nat’s birthday has just passed, and guess what she asked her hubby for, for her birthday present
Here you go lovely. I owe you some decent ones, after all those years of letting me LEARN on your children! Happy birthday sweetness. I love you and am so glad you came into my life. xx
Let me introduce Hayden (8) and Caitlin (5) (yes, Caitlin and Ethan are similar in age… and we just share Amelia)

March 18, 2010This little family is one of my very favourites – and there’s good reason for that. These gorgeous little munchkins, Will and Mia, are my very much loved niece and nephew. Their daddy Justin is my big brother and their mummy Sharnie one of the best sister-in-laws anyone could ask for. And this little session has been planned and attempted many times over the past year. We set one date, and had to reschedule for weather, then there were chicken pox, sick kids, more bad weather…. you get the idea. So when we drew Justin and Sharnie for our family Kris Kringle, their gift was an easy choice. The lead up to our chosen date the weather was beautiful with clear skies and warm weather – probably too warm some days. But once again the day before their shoot the heavens opened and the rain poured down. We decided regardless of the weather we were going ahead, even if we had to change locations. We met EARLY on the beach and had such a great time playing. The weather played along nicely for us. Just as we were finishing the drizzle started. Then the rain set in. Lots of it (remember the day Melbourne flooded?!)
Thank you J&S for a great morning. And thankyou Will and Mia for being your beautiful selves and letting me capture that. xx
