Charlotte

February 27, 2010

Sweet little Charlotte. Oh my goodness she was all sweetness. I was so happy when I found out Marni was expecting another precious little bub, and excited when she contacted me to capture Charlotte’s newborn photos. This is another family I have loved photographing quite a few times now. Taylah was about 7 I think the first time she came to me for photos. She has the sweetest nature. Not long after I photographed her the first time, Liam started school at the same school and his classroom was just across the hall from Taylah’s. Each day as we’d go in to drop off or pick up Liam we’d see Taylah. She was a little besotted with Ethan who was only one at the time and I remember feeling very honoured when Taylah would ask if she could have a cuddle from me too. That’s just the pure, sweet and loving nature she has. So as you can imagine, she is in her element to have a new baby sister all of her own, and she’s such a good big sister!

Now Miss Charlotte, sweet as she is, made me work for some sleepy shots! I even made Marni and Rowan late for their lunch date (so sorry guys!!). The wait was worth it though, as once she finally did nod off into a nice deep sleep, she was putty in my hands.

Marni and Rowan, congratulations again on your sweet new baby girl. Thankyou for trusting me to capture her early days, She’s just divine. I hope she’s being good to you. I’ll be in touch very soon with your full gallery details. x

Amber contacted me a few weeks ago to enquire about a big family session for her mum’s birthday very soon, and what better gift than a photography session with all of the people she loves. I had an absolute ball with these guys. Such a fun loving and connected family. I forget sometimes how easy it is to photograph adults! No running around for starters. We captured A LOT of gorgeous images, it was hard to slim down the gallery – so I didn’t really.

Helen, I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  You have a beautiful family, and every reason to be so very proud of them all. I will be in touch very soon with your gallery details, but for now, here’s a little sneak peek.

My poor little chicken. On Saturday morning she woke up with what I initially thought was her first ever nappy rash. I treated that and went off to photograph Martyn and Shannon’s wedding, and when I returned home that night she was asleep. When I got her up on Sunday morning I noticed her legs were a bit rashy. I showed Brett, but he told me she’d been crawling around in the grass the day before, so it was probably an allergy. When I got her up at 7am on Monday I noticed she had a blister on the top of her foot. I checked over the rest of her body, but there were no more. By 9am, after dropping the boys off at school she’d delveoped quite a few blisters on her feet and then I noticed them starting on her hands. I straight away suspected Hand, Foot and Mouth. I checked her mouth but it was clear. I called our doctor anyway and popped down to have her checked over. As we were waiting for our appointment she was playing with me. As she laughed I noticed a blister developing on the tip on her tongue. A few minutes later we were in and out of the doctors, with confirmation that yep, my sweet little girl has Hand, Foot and Mouth :( We’ve never had a dose of it in our house, and I’m hoping the boys don’t get it. I have no idea where she may have picked it up either (not that it matters anyway). Millie is still pretty happy though. Not quite her normal (extra-happy) self, but she doesn’t seem to be too uncomfortable and is still feeding ok. So it’s going to be a very quiet week at home for us! At least I’ll get some work done, and may even catch up on some housework (you never know!)

Look at those poor blistered little tootsies…

Delaney’s new baby

February 23, 2010

Delaney is another sweet little girl who I photographed when she was just a bub. I was so thrilled to hear Michelle and Stuart were about to welcome another little bub into their family, and loved spending the morning with them again, capturing Michelle’s gorgeous baby belly and seeing what a beautiful little girl Delaney has grown into.

Michelle and Stuart, it was lovely to catch up with you again. It was a privilege to capture this fleeting moment in your lives. I simply can not wait to meet your new little bundle in just a few more weeks.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Martyn and Shannon’s wedding on Saturday. It was a hot, blustery day, but Shannon was so relaxed and calm, she just radiated with pure joy the entire day.  I started off with a visit to the boys. When Shannon gave me their address, I knew they were local to me, but didn’t realise they were one street away! Martyn’s mum and brother had made the trip out from England for the wedding. And we turned on the good Aussie summer weather for them! After spending some time photographing them I left them to relax in the air-conditioning and drove just a few more streets away to Shannon’s parents beautiful home to meet the gorgeous, glowing bride. Shannon really was a dream bride. So easy going, she took everything in her stride, and was just absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Shannon’s dad is a wonderful gardner and had been working hard to have their garden ready for the day. It made a gorgeous backdrop for some last photos, before heading off to Manyung Gallery in Mount Eliza for their ceremony and reception.

Shannon and Martyn, together you make such a beautiful couple. So warm and friendly. So considerate of each other. I loved seeing the love between you, and capturing your connection. I wish you many, many blissfully happy years together. May your photos be an everlasting reminder of your treasured memories. Thankyou for inviting me to capture your special day. Enjoy your honeymoon and I will be in touch when you get back.

Happiness is…

February 20, 2010

A few little things that made me happy this week:

And of course the wonderful help of Miss Kylie to get me a new blog up and running!! Thankyou Miss Awesomeness.

So, what do you think of my new blog?

The first time I met Charlie, she was a tiny, tiny little bundle, just a few weeks old. I still remember being struck by Kate’s way with her. She was so, so loved and cherished. It was so obvious she was such a long awaited dream for her parents. She had the biggest blue eyes and creamy skin back then, and not much has changed there – just the addition of delicious golden curls. Each year Kate and Shane have bought Charlie back to me for her photos, and I always remember because it’s always the same weekend as Liam’s birthday. I just love watching these babies grow up, and capturing their growing personalities each year. This year (well last year now – I’m still catching up!) that weekend came and went, and I actually did think, perhaps they’re not coming this year LOL But alas, amongst the pre Christmas chaos that swamps everyone I got an email from Kate, for Charlie’s photos. And I’m ever so glad.

Kate and Shane, you have the most beautiful little girl. Thank you for choosing me to capture her gorgeousness year after year, it really is a privilege and a joy xx

I first met Christie a few years ago through scrapbooking (back when I had time to scrapbook!), but I hadn’t met Chris until just before their wedding day. Together they are such a beautiful couple. Fun, down to earth, in love and so warm and friendly. And did I say fun? Their wedding day was so perfectly them and I had so much fun capturing all of the special moments and details. The weather was perfect (although maybe a touch too sunny at times) and Christie just radiated with joy all day.
To save time between the ceremony and reception, Chris and Christie decided to have some formal portraits done before the ceremony. After spending some time with the girls getting ready, I headed off to the Briars to photograph the boys. Once the boys were back on the road, the girls had the all clear to come in, and we had a ball capturing some stunning photos of Christie – and her beautiful bridesmaids of course. We then headed off to Manyung Gallery at Mt Eliza for their ceremony and reception. It’s such an honour to be invited along to capture the love and commitment between such a gorgeous couple ~ thank you both xx.

After being rained out on our first attempt, I finally managed to meet up with this gorgeous family to capture some updated family photos for them. Connor and Laura are both the sweetest children. I loved spending the afternoon with them and capturing some gorgeous images of this moment in their lives.

Proof that she only smiles 99% of the time.

Poor little darling. You can feel her pain can’t you :(
:: Yeahaaaaa I made it through all 31 days!! All be it, a little late. Hope you enjoyed the little peek into our lives (well mainly Amelia’s life) over January::
We’ll be resuming regular programming now, as I have a stack of sessions I’ve been waiting to blog. (I like to keep things in order). So check back often and feel free to leave some blog love. I love reading your comments and I’m sure Amelia will love to read her PAD comments in the future too :)
