maternity photography, pregnancy portraits and pregnancy photographer, bayside, mornington peninsula and melbourneYes I had three amazing and gorgeous maternity sessions all in one weekend. Lucky me! I honestly feel so privileged to be chosen to capture this amazing and fleeting time in a couples life. Every single maternity session I do, leaves me feeling in awe of the human body. It really is an amazing and beautiful time, although fleeting. Meet the gorgeous Nyssa and her man Rob. This little person is going to be born into a beautiful home with such a wonderful mummy and daddy. They are sweet and gentle and caring and a lot of fun. Thank you for being so relaxed and fun for your session. xx

Meet Ria, Paul and their first baby (their fur baby) Ainsley. Ria is looking absolutely amazing. I had a wonderful morning in the studio with this stunning little family, capturing their connection, love and excitement at the impending arrival of their new little one in a few weeks time. Ria and Paul, thank you for being so relaxed and fun. And a big thank you to Ainsley for being such a good boy too!

Pregnancy will always amaze me. Even after carrying three of my own babies I will never tire of the amazing miracle of new life forming and how our bodies adapt and change to protect and provide for our cherished little ones as they form and grow. It amazes me, that 8 or 9 months ago this little person didn’t exist, and now here they are, almost ready to meet the world, with every little body part perfectly formed and a spirit of their own.

Claire’s beautiful sisters organised her maternity session as a surprise for her baby shower. They came along with her, and it we had a great time in the studio capturing this little miracle in his or her last weeks on the inside.

Their plans were originally for a ceremony at Koflers Hutte at the summit, but as the cloud rolled in thick on Friday night (and I mean THICK, we were trying to drive up the mountain in it!), they made the call to change location to the gorgeous little chapel on the mountain. Their wedding was simply divine in every way. The girls spent the morning preparing for the wedding in the beautiful Howqua Suite at the Mount Buller Chalet, while the boys got ready in another beautiful room just down the hall. Jess had spent months organising all the little details, and it showed. Every little detail imaginable had been thought of.

And of course there is Jess and Gareth themselves. What can I say. They are a truly beautiful couple. I had actually not been able to meet up with Jess in person at all until I turned up at her room to photograph them, which kind of made me a little nervous – what I they thought I was a big dork – which I admit I am hahaa. But I need not have worried. Both Jess and Gareth, as well as their family and their friends are just beautiful people to be around. And when they are together they both just glow with happiness. I love the way they look at each other, the way they speak to each other, the way they laugh together – and at each other ;) They really made my job so easy, and I feel very privileged to be chosen to capture their precious memories of their amazing day.

I tried to narrow down their photos for a sneak peek, but ended up with 181 favourites. So I narrowed down again, and again, and again. And then just decided to split them over two posts. So check back tomorrow night to see more favourites of the rest of their wedding day.

Jess and Gareth, thank you for sharing yourselves and  your hearts with me. xx

Simple childhood pleasures.

This beautiful family were fresh off the plane from England. Kelly, Rupert and their gorgeous little ones Freddie and Jemima were here to spend Christmas with family on the Mornington Peninsula. We split their session between the studio and the beach, and captured some gorgeous fun images of them all. As these were intended to be surprise presents for family, I couldn’t blog them before Christmas (would not want to ruin the surprise!), but can happily share them now. I’m smiling looking back at their images, remembering the fun we all had. Freddie’s beautiful laugh, his adorable English accent, and Jemima’s gorgeous little tongue that kept finding it’s way out when she was happy and excited. I know I’ve said it before, but I really do feel so blessed to do this for a living. Each week I meet new clients, who a few hours later I am lucky enough to regard as friends. I feel honoured that families and children allow me to see and capture the soul, the spirit and the love in them and the connection and bond with those they love most. So a big thank you, not just to Kelly, Rupert, Freddie and Jemima, but to all of you who have chosen me to capture your precious memories over the years – it truly is a privilege.
