It’s always lovely to have families come back for more photos, and I love to see how much babies have grown over the years. I’m very lucky to have captured families from their newborn babies, through to their school years. I love it. But when a family moves away, and still makes a big trip back to have their photos done again, I am honoured. Rebecca and Brendon made the move from Bayside to Ocean Grove, and I feel so privileged to have been able to spend the afternoon with them, capturing their beautiful little family. I first photographed Charlie at about 10months of age, and he has grown into such a gorgeous little boy. This was my first time meeting Holly, and she is truly adorable. Rebecca and Brendon, you have a gorgeous family, thank you for allowing me to capture you all.

November 23, 2011A few months ago I donated a voucher to a fundraiser for a gorgeous little local girl Amelia (great name huh!) You can read more about Amelia, her family and her journey at her facebook page here. A beautiful mummy named Raelene, with two of the spunkiest and fun boys around, Will and Daniel, purchased the voucher, and lucky me got to spend a perfect Saturday morning at the beach with them and their cousin. Best job ever? You bet!
Raelene, thank you so much for helping me support Amelia’s Project, and for letting me meet your beautiful boys, and capture this amazing time of their lives. I hope you love your sneak peek, your full gallery details will be on their way to you very soon.
As usual quite here, means very NOT quiet behind the scenes. October is crazy busy with weddings, beautiful new babes arriving, pregnant bellies, and gorgeous families. It’s great to be busy though, I am not complaining at all. With the change in weather its also a great time to start getting outdoors for some sessions too, which is exactly what we did with Davina and David’s gorgeous family. Although the weather looked a bit iffy, it played along nicely for us. Thanks Davina and David, was great to spend the morning with you all!

“Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero” ~ Marc Brown
I’ve written about it before. Her bond with each of her brothers is unique, strong and unwavering. Just like their love for her. Liam is her protector. Her comfort. Her safe place to land. You can see it in her eyes. She knows he is watching her. She knows he would do anything and drop anything to be there with her and keep her safe. Her happiness and her love for him are like food for his soul. She is the baby sister he always wanted. He was born to be the biggest brother.
Ethan is her freedom. He takes her on amazing, magical adventures. With him by her side she is capable of anything. She can slay dragons, ride a magic carpet down a rainbow, climb the highest building in the world, swing through a jungle with monkeys, swim through a pool full of jelly and race fan-dangled speed machines. And she knows, without a doubt, if she should fall, if her jet-pack should fail, he will be there to catch her. Together they are laughter and cheekiness. One look from him and she can’t help but giggle. She knows there is fun to be had, mischief and trouble to create, and she knows her big brother will always be at her side, letting her discover and create, and feeding her sense of adventure, but he holds the reigns, and he will always, always pull back just that little bit to keep her safe.
And they, all three, are my heart and soul, and I never want to forget for a single minute how much love, joy and laughter they have bought into our lives.

April 18, 2011Just a teeny break in the mini session sneak peeks to add some photos of my big boy. A last minute session with him, before big changes are made to that smile tomorrow. Tomorrow at 9.10am, we’ll be at the orthodontist, having his braces and CBJ fitted. Never again will his beautiful, warm, cheeky, crooked smile look like this, a reminder to the adventurous little toddler he was, who whacked his mouth on the arm of Nanna’s chair when he was 2, bumping the adult tooth buds out of position, years before he’d even lost his baby teeth. We knew he’d need orthodontics as soon as his adult teeth started to grow down. And the time has come. I feel like it’s one more step away from being my baby, and one more step towards being a big independent teenager. I want to wrap him up in my arms, hide him away from the world and slow down the growing up! But of course I can’t. So as we say goodbye to this gorgeous little stage of his life, and prepare to welcome the next, I had to take some time this afternoon to capture him, the way he is right now. Quiet, easygoing, cheeky and cheerful with that beautiful crooked little smile that has greeted me daily for the past few years.
