I was a little excited to find Shan’s email in my inbox this morning, telling me my photos were on the Kid Independent site. I’m so proud of the girls, their great ideas and hard work have resulted in such a fantastic collaboration between their individual businesses,  Missy Melly, Winnie&Clem and Appleberry Kids.Commercial childrens wear and fashion photography mornington peninsula melbourne

I have adored Missy Melly’s beautiful, clothes since she first opened her doors. Shantell has great taste and an eye for detail. Every piece is so stylish, and the fabric choices are just divine. But if  this gorgeous Summer range was not enough to send me into a spin,  the collaboration with Appleberry Kids for their gorgeous bags, necklaces and bracelets, and  Winnie&Clem for their stunning hats certainly is. I know what my little poppet will be getting around in this Summer.

Allow me to introduce Missy Melly’s top models, Shantell’s beautiful twin daughters Madison and Elly (yes, that’s where the name comes from). Such little troopers. Shooting a summer range, on Melbourne’s beaches in August, is not for the weak! The weather in the lead up was terrible. Typical Melbourne August weather. Cold, wet and windy. It was still raining as we drove to the beach hopeful that we could give it our best. But we were blessed with sunshine the moment we stepped onto the sand. The girls had a great time playing, even venturing into the icy water at times. They were so patient through multiple clothing changes, and so helpful. Just as we were finishing up the clouds started to roll in again. The girls rugged up nice and warm and headed off for a well deserved hot chocolate.

Thank you Shantell, Maddy, Elly and Amanda. It was a pleasure to work with you all. x

Belinda and Sam were married at Ranelagh club in Mount Eliza. Their ceremony was held on the deck, overlooking the bay, and their family and friends relaxed there while we headed down to the beach below for some more photos, before joining all of their loved ones to party the night away.

Today: The boys got their Xbox Kinect for Christmas, and they just love it. I must admit Brett and I find it a lot of fun too, and I don’t even like computer games usually. Ethan loves pingpong, and is surprisingly good at it! Well co-ordinated little thing he is! Liam loves the athletics – which he’s also really good at. And they both love the boxing. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s amazing how sore my muscles were the next day!

A few months ago Eva and Tiana came to visit me for some photos, but their daddy was unable to come at that time. So they came back for a second session to combine some family photos at the park, with a first birthday Cake Smash session for Tiana in the studio. Cake Smash pics will be up in the next post. So much fun, I adore this family and had a ball with them all. I really do feel so lucky and blessed to be able to do this for a living.

If you’re in Melbourne… or anywhere in Australia actually, you’ll know the weather has been insane! Tropical climates, and tropical storms meant shuffling some sessions around but it all works out well in the end. The weather was on it’s best behaviour for Zac and Sophie’s session and I had a great time with this beautiful family.

Nat and Raf, thank you! I’ll send through your gallery details now :)

I’ve been a busy, busy girl the past few weeks, as this time of year always is, and I need to blog a lot of sneak peeks! This is Jack and Cate. They came into the studio for half of their session, and then we headed to their favourite park for the other half, and had so much fun.

I look forward to November. Lots of fun things happen in November. The weather starts to get nicer, summer and Christmas draw nearer, my biggest boy has his birthday, and Charlie comes to visit me. Every year from the time she was a tiny dot, I’ve had the privilege of taking her photos. And it really is such a privilege. She’s a beautiful little girl, happy, carefree and sweet to the core… and I’m sure she gets faster every year! Charlie, Kate and Shane, I loved seeing you all again and spending the afternoon with you. Thank you for choosing me to capture your family in this moment. xx

The night before Tami and Mark’s session we had no idea what the weather was going to do. We had a plan B in place just incase, but we woke on Sunday to a gorgeous morning. We met up at the beach, and I had a great time playing with gorgeous little Ben. Thanks Tami and Mark, I’ll send through your full gallery details very soon.
