I first met Alana when she was 3 weeks old, and it’s hard to believe she’s already 6 months old! What an adorable age six months is. Alana just recently celebrated her baptism, so her mummy and daddy wanted some photos of her in her special gown. Easily one of the most beautiful baptism gowns I have seen. The attention to detail is amazing. Such a beautiful heirloom to have in the family.

Alana is one very lucky little girl, blessed with beautiful parents and surrounded by loving friends and family who all cherish her. Tanja and Adam, thank you for bringing Alana back to see me, it was so lovely to catch up with you all again. Enjoy your sneak peek, I will have your full gallery ready for you very soon.

I loved meeting Kylie, Ryan and Logan a few weeks ago when they all came in for Kylie’s maternity session, and I was so excited to see them all again and meet Ryan and Logan’s new baby sister Paige, and their daddy this time too. I felt very at home with this little family. Not only because Kylie and David have two boys and then a baby girl, but also the age gap between all three children is the same as between all three of mine. Paige is just beautiful and happy to show us her big blue eyes. She stayed wide awake for most of her session taking in everything that was going on around her, but she was so calm and content. She did drift off to sleep for a little while, just long enough for me to catch a few shots of her sleeping blissfully.

Congratulations Kylie and David. You have the perfect little family. Thank you for trusting me to capture this amazing and special time xx

Today: Was party day! Ethan and Amelia had a joint party today for both of their birthdays. Amelia was 2 on 24th January, Ethan will be 6 on 5th February. We decided to go with a carnival theme for their party and my sister made THE.MOST.AMAZING.CAKE! EVER!! It tasted as good as it looked! (If anyone is in need of a wedding or special occassion cake let me know, she’s based in Langwarrin, but services most of Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Plus she’s nice :) ) My description to her was pretty vague really. “Something carnival-ish, a big top or something?”  It broke my heart to cut it LOL.

We had a bbq lunch with lots of salads given the 40 degree day! But the pic above is of the dessert table – picture 20 kids just out of frame being held back with photographer mummy yelling “hang on till I get a photo!” LOL  We had giant freckle lollypops – made by me! popcorn, fairyfloss, jelly and of course icypoles!

Millie and Ethan had a ball. Our house looked like a bomb had exploded in it – which is always a sign there’s been a whole lot of fun going on.

Today: The boys got their Xbox Kinect for Christmas, and they just love it. I must admit Brett and I find it a lot of fun too, and I don’t even like computer games usually. Ethan loves pingpong, and is surprisingly good at it! Well co-ordinated little thing he is! Liam loves the athletics – which he’s also really good at. And they both love the boxing. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s amazing how sore my muscles were the next day!

Today: It’s been two amazing years since you came into the world. At 6.35am on Saturday 24th January 2009 you were born. Six weeks early and weighing 5lb 9oz. Your early arrival sparked a huge roller-coaster of events and emotions. All of which I’m sure happened for a reason. You have come so far in the past two years. You have taught us so much. You have given us all so much love and completely changed the dynamics of our family. You are one very adored little girl, blessed with family and friends who will love and protect you every day of your life. I only got to hold you for 30 seconds on this day two years ago. Tonight you fell asleep in my arms. You will always be my baby girl, and you will be loved and cherished always. Happy birthday my darling xx

fine art newborn and baby portraiture mornington peninsula melbourne Today: I was getting Amelia ready for her  nap when the phone rang. I was a few minutes in the study helping a client sort out their order. There’s a baby gate on the door so Amelia can’t get in there, so she just sat herself down outside, next to a bag of old school uniforms I’d just sorted, and sucked away on her fingers. I was only a few minutes, but when I finished I was greeted by this sight. She’d taken her shoes off, and pulled two of Ethan’s old school tops out of the bags and cuddled up on them, fast asleep. I scooped her up, and popped her into her cot where she snoozed comfortably for the rest of her nap. Mixing work and mummy-hood is not always easy. But hopefully it’s always worth it. xx

Today: I heard giggling, squealing and belly laughs coming from Amelia’s room. This is what I found. She climbed in there herself and squealed with delight as Ethan raced in and out of her room and up and down the hallway with her.

Today: Most babies like a bubble bath don’t they? Amelia has decided that she HATES bubbles at the moment. Santa gave her a frog that plays music and blows bubbles from it’s mouth for Christmas. It’s designed to go in the bath or shower. We popped it in on Christmas night and she hated it. And since then she’s hated bubbles. It took a fair bit of playing tonight for her to have a giggle and enjoy bath time. But she wasn’t in there for any longer than she had to be!
