Ooops! I just realised that I forgot to blog Tom and Stephs gorgeous November wedding! Usually I post a sneak peek to both my blog and my facebook business page, and after Steph and Toms wedding I only posted on the fb page!

Steph and Tom’s wedding day was amazing, beauiful, love-filled, emotional, unique and so perfectly them. It was also wet. Very wet. But they were both so easy going, it just didn’t matter. They had plans for a garden wedding on Steph’s Aunt and Uncle’s beautiful Pearcedale property, and with a last minute extra marquee set up their plans still went ahead. Following their ceremony we headed off to Warneet for some photos by the water. The rain did stop for just a few minutes just before dark and we did  to get some photos in the gorgeous garden before the rain set back in for the night. Steph and Tom, thank you for sharing yourselves and your day with me.

A few months ago Eva and Tiana came to visit me for some photos, but their daddy was unable to come at that time. So they came back for a second session to combine some family photos at the park, with a first birthday Cake Smash session for Tiana in the studio. Cake Smash pics will be up in the next post. So much fun, I adore this family and had a ball with them all. I really do feel so lucky and blessed to be able to do this for a living.

Two sweet little sisters who came to visit me on Saturday morning. Kobie was very shy, but she soon warmed up – with the help of a few of my little tricks ;) I am amazed that Kobie is only 5 months older than my Amelia! She’s so tall, and with all that beautiful long hair I had to keep reminding myself that she’s just a baby too. Thanks Brad and Kylee, was a pleasure spending the morning with you all.

Meet my new friend Jess. Isn’t she irresistible. Those gorgeous golden curls and eyes like big pools of chocolate, and all topped off with a beautiful gentle temperment… what’s not to love! I was so looking forward to meeting her and her mummy last week for a gorgeous outdoors Autumn session. After rain, rain and more rain, we were not sure how we’d go, but the weather played along nicely, the rain stayed away and just as we were finishing up the sun even broke through the heavy clouds and showered us with sunshine. I just love outdoors sessions in Winter. The colours of Autumn, and the texture of deciduous trees and snuggly warm woolies, and of course that beautiful soft filtered light. Yum.

It’s a busy time of year alright. Things have been crazy busy the last few weeks, which is always great. But it does make life a little hectic, juggling a family of five, and a business. Once again I burned the candle at both ends, burned out and we all came down sick. Some antibiotics, and a good hard look at my business workflow, some much needed changes, and I feel like I’m coming out the other end a lot better off now. As the end of the financial year approaches all too fast, I’m finalising all the boring stuff, but also searching for and ordering new samples and working out next years packages, which is fun, it’s nice when new goodies arrive, and there are some seriously yummy products arriving around here. I can’t wait to share all this yummyness with my clients. So, that’s all the boring business-y stuff, which I’m sure is not all that interesting to everyone else, so how about some photos of a stunning family. How adorable are these brothers. I love the dynamics of a family with a large age gap between children. And I just love that beautiful soft fading light. Makes me happy :)

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of flying to Canberra to attend a workshop held by Barb Uil of JinkyArt Photography. Barb is in my mind (and many others!!) is THE best child photographer in Australia… and beyond! I have admired her work for years, she is an amazing, creative photographer, and such a genuinely beautiful person. Barb and her team put an amazing amount of work into her workshops. Nothing is too much to ask for. You want a horse for your session… sure, here’s a horse LOL Over the three days we photographed 17 different sessions. All just amazing as each other. When I got there I knew my friend Belinda from Garland Photography in Sydney. When I left 3 days later I had another 11 beautiful women to call my friends. It was hard to be away from my family for that amount of time, especially Amelia who is generally hitching a ride on my hip all day long, and it was wonderful to get home and have my little chickens back under my wings again, but so, so, so worth going. I’ll be posting more photos from the workshop over the next week or so, so stayed tuned to see more :) Four days away from work, means I have a ton, and I mean a TON of work to get through, and I also need to blog some exciting new studio news too. Lots coming up, so pop back often to keep up to date. But for now, here are some photos from one of those 17 amazing sessions.

I have photographed Brianna twice in the past, but this was my first time meeting her new little brother Joshua. These two just smiled and smiled the whole time they were here. Joshua just seemed like the perfect content little baby, and Brianna like the perfect big sister. Leigh your children are just beautiful. Congratulations again on welcoming little Joshua into your family. Time just flies by so quickly!

When Stella first called me to arrange a session, she asked if I’d go out to their farm. I was giddy with excitment the moment she suggested it. You see, her interstate friend had organised a voucher for Stella’s Christmas present. It was only a few days before Christmas and there was a nation wide postage strike on, so I suggested that I drop the voucher off to them. As I drove down the road looking for the right number property, I was drawing nearer and nearer to one of ‘those’ properties. There are a few around. The ones that you would just love to see further inside. The ones that even though you can’t see much from the road, you know that beyond those gates there’s an amazing space that my creativity has been waiting for. Little flutters of excitement bubbled up inside me as we got closer and closer, and finally those numbers on the letter box confirmed it for me. Whoot! I was in my element. Now if I thought the property was gorgeous… it had nothing on Stella and her amazingly beautiful family. Like most teenagers, they were not too keen on the idea of having their photos taken, but they soon realised it wasn’t going to be one of ‘those’ sessions. We had a ball together, as they led the way, showing me all the places they love. I really enjoyed my time with them all, and I really love the images we captured… so much I’ve had a lot of trouble selecting for their gallery, so it’s huge, but here is a little taste of a few of my favourite shots.

Stella, Dean, Adele, Alex and Ally, thank you for such a great afternoon. You are an amazing warm, friendly, caring and loving family, and it was an absolute joy and pleasure to be around you all.
